Mission Statement

Our Vision

  • To provide a friendly and safe environment for all members regardless of age, ethnicity and gender to play and enjoy the game of crown green bowling.
  • To provide opportunities for all members and for all levels of ability to play.
  • To promote social interaction and supportive friendships.
  • To provide the local community with an active and forward thinking club and sporting venue.

Our Mission

  • To ensure there are well-managed procedures and opportunities to generate sufficient funds to maintain and develop the club now and in the future.
  • To actively promote Old Shrewsbury Bowling Club in the local and wider community and to develop social activities to counter isolation and to promote mental and health well-being.

Our Values

  • To promote Old Shrewsbury Bowling Club  to enable it to flourish and to support recruitment of new members and the retention of existing members.
  • To promote competition and be committed to looking forward and to strive continually to develop and improve the club to meet the needs of fellow members.
  • To provide an inviting and enjoyable crown green bowling experience and to support fellow members' physical and mental well-being at all times.
  • To show respect for others.
  • To support fund raising activities and social events.

 

Anti-Bullying Statement

The Safeguarding Bowls Group consists of representatives from the Bowls Development Alliance, Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd, British Crown Green Bowling Association, English Short Mat Bowling Association and the English Bowling Federation.

All six organisations are committed both individually and jointly to ensuring that bullying in any form has no place within the sport of bowls.

There is 100 per cent commitment from all six organisations to ensure that bowls clubs provide a safe, caring and friendly environment for all bowlers regardless of their age, background or any other characteristic.

Each organisation has procedures in place to ensure that should an incident of bullying occur, they will deal with it promptly and effectively.

Bullying in bowls will not be tolerated.
