ABOUT US

Located in the heart of the medieval town of Shrewsbury and close to the River Severn by St. Julian Friars public car park, Old Shrewsbury Bowling club has been running for 115 years.

We currently have approximately 140 members of all ages who play crown green bowls at various levels. We have six teams who play competitively in various County leagues. Matches are hosted by OSBC every week and bowlers and their supporters come from all over the county to compete on our two well-kept greens. We also have a large group of very active social bowlers of all abilities, who meet to play for fun and fitness every Tuesday and Friday.

OSBC is frequently chosen by Shropshire Crown Green Bowling Association to host matches between sides who are competing for annual cups and trophies, within the county and nationally. In 2023 alone, our club hosted 20+ important matches with large numbers of players and spectators descending on our greens to play.

OUR FACILITIES

OSBC has a generously sized first floor clubhouse with a balcony that overlooks our greens, the surrounding trees and hedges and over Victoria Avenue to the river. The view up to the town walls is spectacular. The bar and kitchen are being refurbished over winter and we are investigating the possibility of hiring out our large function room. In the meantime, our many bowlers enjoy social events at the club throughout the year – quizzes, coffee afternoons and club nights, to name but a few.

Although the majority of our everyday expenses are covered by subscriptions, events and fundraising, we are seeking sponsorship to help us to expand, both for our existing members and for new ones attracted to the club.

WHAT ARE OUR SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES?

Package A  - £500 for:

• 3-year deal with green-side advertising space 8ft wide x 4ft deep
• Frame for your company all-weather advertising board. Board supplied by yourselves but installed free of charge by OSBC. Sign & Poster Ltd are the preferred supplier (01743 466002) and the design needs to be agreed with OSBC and Sign & Poster Ltd. Any other supplier must be agreed with OSBC
• Your advert (designed by yourselves or a simple version designed by us) on our well-used website

Package B  - £300 for:

• 3-year deal with green-side advertising space 8ft wide x 2ft deep
• Frame for your company all-weather advertising board. Board supplied by yourselves but installed free of charge by OSBC. Sign & Poster Ltd are the preferred supplier (01743 466002) and the design needs to be agreed with OSBC and Sign & Poster Ltd. Any other supplier must be agreed with OSBC
• Your advert (designed by yourselves or a simple version designed by us) on our well-used website

Package C  - £60 for: 

• 1-year deal
• Your advert (designed by yourselves or a simple version designed by us) on our well-used website
